Our staff are all keen birders , therefore if you need advice on any book or CD, please contact us by e-mail or telephone - we will be pleased to help. There are now what seems like hundreds of so called ' bird interest ' / ' book ' outlets on the internet all looking for commission sales - however your shopping with us means us- not Amazon ! All stock shown on our store belongs to us - not a third party, therefore you can be confident that your order will be shipped (usually first class post free that day) and not up to 6 weeks !
The second-hand list is updated on a regular basis, however many books do not make this list as we have a large 'wants' list. Please e-mail us if there is something in particular you are looking for.

| " On a cold winters morning I arrived on the estuary to find the usual waders and wildfowl feeding quietly on the mudflats. Suddenly my attention was drawn to the sight of rooks chasing and mobbing a female Peregrine Falcon as she attacked the feeding flocks looking for her first meal of the day. This time she had been unsuccessful and she climbed into the morning sky chased by the rooks. Climbing higher and higher the rooks eventually gave up and she began to circle in the brilliant blue light. Up and Up to what looked like hundreds of feet in the air she folded her wings into her body and fell like a stone. After free falling several hundred feet she suddenly pulled out of the dive and began climbing again. Was this just a practice I thought ?
She climbed and glided in a constant circle upwards ever upwards (I'm now straining my neck ! ) until eventually she was the smallest speck even with my binoculars. I was graced with four or five more seconds of contact with the raptor before - nothing - she had gone -
vanishing into the heavens......FREE AS A BIRD " |
