New and Second-hand bird books

mapBirdbooksdirect deal solely in bird books.We are an independant company based in Northumberland, United Kingdom.If this is your first time to the site,you may be suprised that we do not use an online ordering system.There are two good reasons for this.Firstly - new books;- How many of you will have ordered online only to find that the title is "Out of stock" , "publication has been delayed,or even cancelled",or the price has been changed.Birders will be aware that a lot of bird book publishers are 'small' businesses who produce books in very small numbers.We therefore do not intend to take orders for titles that have not yet been published.
Secondly- Second-hand books;-Often our used book section may only contain one copy of a certain title.Some books come into stock on a regular basis,but others we may see only twice a year ! -An online system would not be useful,it is simpler to and we will let you know immediately if the item is available .
The second-hand list is updated on a regular basis,however many books do not make this list as we have a large 'wants' list.Please e-mail us if there is something in particular you are looking for.
