mapDescription.Length 7.5 inches.Distinguished by its size (smallest of described snipes) , and has a distinct median black stripe on crown,and 12 tail feathers,middle pair longest;axillaries white.Has four longitudinal buff stripes on back,and metallic purple gloss on rump,and green on scapulars.Under parts mostly dull white,streaked with dark brown.
